This program is: open on a limited basis
While the adoption program in Uzbekistan is technically open, it is met with severe opposition from Uzbek officials. This can cause quite a few problems during the proceedings and the finalization process. All prospective parents must be at least 15 years older than the child they want to adopt. Other than the age requirement there are not any residency or marriage requirements. In 2010, five children were adopted from Uzbekistan.
